"secret' mottos

Am I the only one that's bugged by frats/sororitys that have "secret" mottos but when they say them publicly, they won't say what they stand for? like Alpha phi's AOE motto, if you're gonna use it all over facebook then don't get offended when someone asks what it is. by saying it all over social media, aren't you just trying to rub it in the face of anyone that isn't in Alpha phi?
Its also annoying when their motto is like 17 acronyms long

As a member of a greek organization on campus I understand the use of secret mottos. Every sorority/frat that I know of has one but aphi is the most public about it. They use it a lot but they also only use it on social media when directed towards sisters instead of towards the general public.
