opinion on greek rank

Now that it is over-- I want to tell the sororities what is going on in the mind of a pnm. Did every single one of us look at greekrank beforehand? Yes. Did we take what was being said on here to heart? Yes probably. But with that being said, I tried to stay open because a lot did say what was on here is so wrong.
So my take-- this website rank is very wrong. Most of my friends got invited back to the parties they wanted. The only one that several got cut from was Pi Phi. But after that we pretty much chose similar ones early on. Then we all kind of split. Whoever had Pi phi kept Pi phi. But some liked Tri Delt, others preffed zeta over them. Some liked Theta over Tri Delt. Some cut Zeta early, a few loved them them to the end. A few loved Kappa, some liked zeta, Tri Delt, Theta over them. So of my friends who I would say are pretty similar and had many options-- three who weren't cut from Pi phi went Pi Phi. But the rest of us-- a couple chose Tri Delt, one chose Kappa, two chose Zeta, and two chose Theta. And none of us were cut from anything but Pi Phi.
So my point is-- most of us came in with preconceived ideas because of Greek rank. Ashamed to admit it but it still is a fact. And it isn't going away. So sororities need to take it into account and maybe not ignore it. Maybe we should get on here and not bash other sororities, but promote our own. And sororities that had more pictures, videos, media presence were way more appealing coming in.

Some did change my mind during the week-- but some of my friends were not that way. Whatever greekrank said -- not necessarily about the top ones-- they were interchangeable-- but about the bottom and bottom middle-- they wouldn't even consider them. They decided that before they got here. But several of us really like those sororities and totally could have been ok with any of them. So my two cents-- Greek rank is real however much we hate to admit it. And every sorority needs to learn how to promote to its advantage.

Yall went through rush for a week. You barely know the sororities or Tech yet. Greek rank isn't completely accurate. Everyone has their own opinion, rankings are mostly subjective. And most people don't actually care about rankings in the long run. In 30 years, you're not going to be thinking about whether your house was "top" or bottom," you're going to think about the friendships and bonds and memories you made.
But if you really care that much about rankings, then you should know that they change even after rush week! All of the sororities at Tech are good and they all have their strengths and weaknesses. Some of the houses who were considered "bottom" 2 weeks ago have already moved up to "middle" tier based off how well their recruitment went.
So reading this site, believing every word, and refusing to be in certain houses because they are "lower middle" or "upper bottom" is absolutely ridiculous.

This is a joke! Nobody actually believes and agrees with every post on GR. I agree with the comment above me, this site is all completely subjective. Also nobody really cares about what sorority you're in or the "ranking." The only people that do are the insecure, image obsessed people who haven't let go of high school

Awwwww, freshmen are so cute. They think they know it all. You talked to a handful of girls in each chapter during rush. Those girls were prepped and trained to talk to you in a specific way. Thinking you "chose" any chapter is silly. The houses have all the power during rush.
As for ranks, most of the people posting on here are freshmen, GDI's and frat boys. A lot of trolling occurs here. If your impressions of Tech Greek life are based on Greek Rank and Instagram pics, you have a lot to learn as a baby of your new sorority.

If y'all were trying to be "top tier," Zeta, Theta, and Kappa are not. If you didn't take GR so seriously, you would know that. You're freshmen though. It's your first day, you'll catch on soon enough. You'll learn that guys don't really care at the end of the day what sorority you're in. You'll learn that what sorority you're in won't make you better than anyone else.
