So my rush week went pretty bad. I ended the week without a bid. I was thinking about trying AXiD but I'm afraid of being rejected again.
How does the recruitment process work for AXiD, since it is a new sorority? Do they accept everyone who applies or do they only hand out a certain amount of bids?
Please help :( I was really looking forward to becoming a part of a sisterhood

To axid website and sign up. Being a founding member of a sorority you set the tone and experiences of future sorority sisters. Trust me it is an honor few ever get the opportunity to experience. God has a plan for your life and it sounds like you have the makings of a great leader. You still haven't give n up and are looking for opportunities to make the most of your college experience. That attitude will take you far and it's the type of attitude that builds great sororities. I am rooting for you and said a prayer for you. Here's to our future texas tech leaders!!! Your going to do great here at texas tech!! Wreck'em!

I wish I could give you a hug. I'm so sorry. I know this hurts. Please don't give up. I'm going to have to agree that you should try AXiD this week. It doesn't matter what letters you wear. Being part of a sisterhood during college, and for your whole life, is a great thing. I want you to experience it.
Not sure why you were dropped. If you know your grades were low, you can discuss it during the interview process with AXiD and explain how you're going to work hard, etc. You can always try spring rush, but why not just go for it now. Don't give up!!!!!!!

Hugs. Being part of a colony takes hard work, commitment and a sense of adventure. yOU set the tone and groundwork for your group for years to come. The colonization team will be interviewing, looking for a diverse group of girls...the social butterflies, the beauties, the organizational girls, the leaders, the academic knockouts, the ones that hold everything together...they will look for girls in all classes, not just freshmen. If you are interested, contact them now. Good luck!!

No, the new colony won't take everyone nor do you just sign up to join. It will be a formal recruitment process with interviews and social events. They will be allowed to take up to Tech's chapter total, but they will only take as many women as can meet their colony goals. They'll be looking for women from all four classes, from a variety of majors and hometowns, who are involved on campus and are demonstrated leaders, and most of all women who sincerely identify with AZD's values which you will learn about during their rush.
Starting a sorority is an amazing & rewarding experience but not easy and not a "typical" sorority experience. You won't get a Big Sis but they might pair the colony class off in "Twins". You won't be following the traditions of decades of women before you but starting your own chapter tradition. You'll have to woke harder to pull together as a sisterhood. And unfortunately, you'll be in a house that starts as "bottom tier" and works it's way up. It may be considered bottom tier the whole time you're at Tech only to rise a decade or more later. Rush will be harder the first few years as it takes special pnm's to see the value and potential of joining a new chapter.

Snap bids are when a chapter doesn't bid match to quota and houses call girls in the middle of the night to offer then bids. Anyone who did get a snap bid was at bid day. Chapters cannot snap bid after bids have been opened.
I think what you are referring to is COB (continuous open bidding). This is what chapters who are below total can do to add members outside formal rush. If OP is interested in COB, she should contact the Panhellenic advisor in the Greek Life office to let them know she is interested if any chapters are doing COB.

Really speaks of a lot of great qualities for the girls going AXiD! They all have my utmost respect, especially underclassmen who had planned things going another way. I am so sorry that rush ended badly but I can almost 100% promise you you will be SO glad you were a founding member of AXiD at tech! The fact that you're determined to find sisterhood and are brave enough to try again gives me complete belief that they will love you and you will be an amazing addition to the chapter!!
