I'm very interested in kappa but I am curious as to why I don't see any social media presence at all, from the chapter or from the girls, is there a specific reason for this?

Why don't you ask them? If you have a weird feeling about it you have today to ask. If you don't feel comfortable asking, maybe this isn't our home.
