when going through rush, is it bad to say that you are nervous?
or to say that you're afraid to not get a bid....

will not be taking grade risks, nor will Phi Mu when they come on. They will, however, be taking women who are already established on campus of every classification. Many will be women who never went through recruitment for whatever reason, many will be women who had unsuccessful recruitments before. Tech is so out of the loop when it comes to new colonies, and it's just a sign of that when you have people assuming a new NPC sorority will not be able to come on strong & get established, and assuming that failure is even an option (other Big XII and SEC schools have routinely added new chapters in recent years that were able to come on and get their footing without fear of closing - often b/c the schools had strong panhellenics & understood the need for more chapters & didn't discourage pnms from considering them). Will they be "top tier" immediately, No, because Tech is too entrenched in that concept. Will they offer an exceptional sisterhood experience to their members - an entirely unique experience due to the colony experience? Absolutely. And collegiate life is 4 - 5 years. AXiD offers a very meaningful alumna experience, just as almost every other NPC does. If a woman is only joining for the ability to "mix with the top frats," then she is joining for the wrong reasons. Regardless, 2.6 will be a definite liability for all of the sororities at Texas Tech, including the new colony, so keep that in mind if you decide to go through formal.
