pnm's
by: TTU17PNM's go in with an open mind. If you go in with your heart set on one house you are setting yourself up for heartache. Remember the process is MUTUAL selection. I have heard (rude) pnm's straight out telling other houses they didn't want to be there, they only want" xyz " house. Ok, we cut you. We then hear "xyz" cut them. Karma! Be yourself, be polite, and have an open mind and you will find your home!!

The reality is that it's not really mutual. If the chapter doesn't want you, you're not getting in...no matter how much you think you deserve it. The chapters have more power than the PNM's in this process. So PNM's - go in there with an open mind to ALL CHAPTERS. You may think you're a special snowflake, but most of the girls going through rush have great grades, solid resumes and rec letters. You're going in with girls from all over the state and country. It's not just your high school. Check your entitlement at the door!

Also don't listen to tent talk during the event, especially you girls coming from outside the DFW metroplex.
I know a girl personally that had a top house and a lower house on pref. night, she really thought, with her alumni/legacy connections, she was a shoe in for the top house. Well don't you know that on bid day when she opened her envelope there was the much lower ranked house shining brightly!
She was of course devastated and was going to drop rather than accept the bid. She was talked into at least going to bid day, which she did, crying all the while.
It's been a couple of cycles now and she can't believe she ever felt this way! She loves her sorority, the girls and has been involved with all aspects of the university.
So go in with an open mind, this will be the largest recruitment ever with more girls coming from outside the traditional Tech attendance zones than ever before. Trust the process and give your bid a shot, it may well turn out to be one of the best decisions you'll ever make
