when will it happen

The lodges don't include housing b/c thats what the university decided all those years ago when Greek Circle was platted & dedicated. Who knows exactly why that decision as made (likely b/c, as you said, the university which owns the land on which the lodges are built, did not want the competition to fill dorms). Supposedly when the 2nd and 3rd phases of Greek Addition were dedicated, the newer restrictive covenants allow for actual residential lodges to be built, but the subdivision hasn't been rezoned by the city of Lubbock, which would be required...who knows why? The question is - how does the lodge system hold anyone back? From what? Tech's chapters are booming, and the system is growing.... chapters recruit quality members (for the most part) and are well regarded throughout the state. Curious to know what Tech Greeks are being held back from, and compared to whom?

Who actually wants to live in anyway? Most NPC Sororities are burdened with pretty restrictive rules for what they can & can't do in their residential houses, and at a good number of schools, they are faced with difficulty filling beds for that reason and b/c it's so much more expensive to live in than to get an apartment.

At a lot of those schools, you only get to live in one year because of the large number of girls. So at Tech you miss out on one year of live-in. Everything else is comparable to any SEC school.

I don't get what the point of having monstrous fraternity houses is if you can't throw parties in them. What are they for?

Uh no I know they use them for scrapbooking and sing along parties too. But what else?

My mom went to tech in the 80's and was in a sorority. She said they've never been allowed to live there because the houses were too small

....why are you talking about the SEC? Tech is a part of the big 12 worry about trying to have the best Greek system there before worrying about the SEC. No way could y'all stand up to ole miss bama lsu ect.
