it would be nice if Zeta would stop slamming the 3 as in DG ACHI O and KD . . when you have to put all 5's and 1's on other pages to get your rank back up fast that doesn't speak well for them ! everyone should just leave it alone and be happy to be in the sorority your in !

even after going through rush i cannot seem to figure out the way each sorority selects their girls. i prepared myself for rush months in advance--constantly looking for the perfect outfits, keeping my grades in tip top shape, and reading about each sorority so i could concentrate more on the girls in each house rather than what they were about. needless so say--i did everything i was supposedly to do or have. i bought all designer outfits for rush with the shoes to match, i graduated with a 3.74 gpa, im from a "zip code" area, went to private school my entire life, drive an expensive car, and made sure i had 2 recommendation letters for every house--all coming from family friends and relatives that attended prestigious universities such as penn and princeton, even the former president of a "top house" wrote me a letter. the one thing i did not have was a legacy attached to my name. the sorority my mother was in does not exist at texas tech and i think it was the deciding factor for

While you did have a great message about sororities not choosing girls based on how much money they have, how pretty they are, or who they know, you weren't accurate on some of your thinking. I'm in a top sorority at Tech. We spend a lot of time looking at your GPA, high school activities, and recommendation letters. We don't take into account if you were a legacy for another sorority, especially if it wasn't even one at Tech. We do give our legacies a lot of consideration, but we cut a lot of them based either on them not having outstanding resumes from high school or us feeling like they wouldn't fit in with my sorority. While the girl who talked to you on pref night may have loved you, the rest of the girls may not have or you may not have stood out among the amazing girls who prefed there. I have never heard of a sorority at Tech ending up with more than 15 or 20 legacies in their pledge class, and there are about 60 girls in a pledge class! I'm happy you love where you are though.
