I'm a freshman who didn't go through formal rush, so if I attend an event in open bidding or the spring from one of the lower houses is my life over or something?

What if I really like them, I've seen the new girls around campus in their bid day shirts most of them are pretty cute, those in the lower to bottom tier that is, all those in the upper tier are very pretty, will being in a lower tier keep me from getting into grad school, or finding a potential boyfriend that is a decent human being with plans for the future and a level head?

I'm just trying to figure out why "tiers" are important, someone please explain?
