So what are the chances of a girl getting a bid from top tier (pi phi, tri delta, zta, kappa) without a recommendation letter? Has It happened to anyone? Do you think it's likely?

tops house take pan (or non-rec girls) a lot more then you think. So just go in to each house make the best impression you can on them and your chances of coming back the next day are high

If they really want you, they will get a friendly alum from the local panhel to write one for a girl for bid day. But that's for cases of an amazing PNM with top notch grades and personality and connections. Recs can help girls stay longer on the list if they may not be the perfect candidate. And hopefully gives them more time to impress the chapter. Ladies, if you plan to rush in 2015, get recs. Find your local panhellenic and start networking. Ask your moms, aunts, neighbors and teachers. There are plenty of ladies that will be happy to help you.

I got into a top tier house with out a rec so yes it's possible :)
