All this talk about sororoities being completely exclusive and stuff is all a joke, there is literally 200+ per sorority, by no means do they all know someone. If you do it is an automatic bid, and if you dont and your not a creepy slob you will get a bid trust me, A LOT of girls go inactive after their freshman year.

First off, there is no such thing as an automatic bid. DON'T think you're going to get in somewhere just because you're a legacy or you know someone. You'll get special consideration, but NOTHING is guaranteed. As for sororities being "exclusive", I think only have 200 girls out of the 15,000 something women that go to this university, and really even out of the 1,000 + that rush. I can't speak for other chapters, but in mine personally, if we really really want you and you don't have a rec, we will call up an alum that's in Lubbock and get her to write you one that day. You absolutely HAVE to have them in the fall to get a bid. The spring is a lot different, but during formal rush it's important. Also, as for "A LOT" of girls going inactive after their freshmen year, that's just not true lol. If anything it gets better the longer you're in it. Most of the girls who go inactive only do so because of personal issues or financial problems.

Go the your alumnae panhellenic in your home town. They can help you get recs. You need one from an alumna of each chapter for fall rush.
