transfer
by: GoRedRaidersI'm transferring to Texas Tech next fall and I really want to rush. I'll be classified as a junior because of my HS graduation date but I'll have 3 years left at the university. I have a good college GPA (3.7) and am involved at my college. My high school transcript and test scores (which I'll have to submit) are not super awesome. I don't know anybody at Texas Tech, so I have no connections within any of the sororities there. Will my not so great high school stats hurt my chances of receiving a bid ever though I've done really well in college? In my situation, do I have a good chance of receiving a bid? I am also a legacy to one sorority if that helps.

Texas Tech greek life is not nearly as competitive as it is at many other schools. The trolls above want to think that greek life at this school is better than and more selective than anywhere else, but really it's nothing compared to many other schools. Your options will probably be more limited as a sophomore, but there's no reason you shouldn't be able to receive a bid. Just keep your grades up, be yourself, and keep an open mind. Best of luck to you!
