what're my chances on getting a bid? please help!

Hello, I wanted to ask this on here so I could get real opinions from real Greek students.
I transferred to Tech this semester of Fall 2013 and I was unsure about rush, because Greek life isn't big where I'm from. I honestly didn't know much about it. After being here a semester, I really would like to join a sorority. I'm superrrrrrrr nervous about rushing though, because Greek life is something I'm so unfamiliar with.
I know all of the sororities are great and have something to offer, so I would be happy with any of them. Of course I have preferences, but I wouldn't bash or hate on one single sorority.
I was just wondering if anyone could give me an idea of what my chances of getting a bid would be. I'm a sophomore transfer student, I'm fairly smart, 3.5 GPA, I'm pretty, but I am a little overweight. I'm not the size of a beluga whale or anything, I wear like size 10 jeans, but I'm definitely not thin. Some have told me that not being skinny will hurt my chances and some have told me it won't really matter.
I think I'm a really good person, personality wise. I'm super sweet and really nice. I can make people laugh and be funny. I get along with people really easily and I'm never involved in drama.
I want to do spring rush. I know not all sororities will be doing spring rush, but I just would like to do it while I'm still a sophomore.
I know this probably sounds dumb, but I'm just really nervous about it I guess. Greek life can be intimidating!

Your best shot is Theta, Chi O, KD, ADPi, and DG. They'll take you regardless of your weight. They aren't focused on keeping their house top because they have never really been top. However, I don't think any of those houses spring rush... I may be wrong though. The houses that do spring rush that I know of, ZTA and AXO will not take you because they are pretty good houses. I'm in a top house and my cousin was in your situation last year.

Yeah, I didn't want to get into the whole who's top tier thing, because I didn't want to offend anyone. Obviously there are a few sororities I know I won't get in and have no interest in. I really like Chi O and Theta. KD, too. So that's good news to me! Like I said though, I'm not picky. I'm sure I would be happy in any of them.

As if ALL of the sororities don't have size 10's in them. I know you are trying to be nice, but to tell this moderately-sized girl she absolutely CAN'T be a top or even "pretty good" sorority is a bit much. I say go in with no expectations of what you want and see where you land! You sound like a nice, smart girl and I am sure you will find a home!
