The only was one of the traditionally “top” houses will give you a bid right now is one of three things.

1) your a athlete in a big time sport ( baseball football basketball )

2) your dumb rich/parents are super influential and they know your dumb rich/super influential. Any by influential I’m talking play golf with the governor ( I know Abbott is in a wheel chair but you get the jest of it ) on a regular basis type of influential.

3) you get one of their more influential alumni to reach out and ask the chapter to give you a bid on their behalf. So yeah if you know the alumni that donated money for their house renovations ask them to help you out.

Honestly if your dead set on join one of those houses make friends with the current PC and then try and rush them spring. It’s a lot easier in spring if you know the most recent PC.

Is it really that hard to get a bid from them? I'm not poor, went to international school, a good friend and classmate was a billionaire, but not dumb rich either.

'not poor' is a subtle, less vulgar way of saying I have money. Just not 'dumb rich'.
