Joining a fraternity
by: GeedSo, I am not in a fraternity and I want to change that. I've been to multiple fraternities events for this fall and haven't heard back from any of them. Is there a reason why I am not hearing back or am I missing something? Hopefully the people that are in a frat can help a guy out and join one.

Most, if not, all frats have already started doing their cuts & are now only inviting the people that they potential want to be a part of them. This semester alone has more than 1,000 PNMs rushing. If you don’t stand out positively during any of the events you’ve been to, no one is going to vouch positively about your character. Be proactive. Approach the actives instead of them approaching you, that way you’re actually showing them that you’re interested even if they are in the bottom of your list. Respect ALL frats, that goes a long way.
There are 22 frats on IFC. Go through as many as you can. We may represent different letters, but at the end of the day we are all family.
Hope this kinda helps.

Even the small greeks are filling up quickly, so they aren’t really worried about numbers anymore. At this point if you didn’t even consider them rushing & have not been going to any of their events, most likely they will not take you. They want members that actually want them, not just as their safety option.
I say this because I am from the smallest frat out of the 22. I genuinely hope you hear back from those 5 frats that you rushed though. But just know that small greeks aren’t to pass on.
