Honest take on recruitment based on last year
by: 💯 RealI purposely didn’t research sororities last year. I wanted to go in with an open mind without prejudgements. That being said It was easy to tell which house was the “top” and which one was “bottom” instantly. Pi Phi was my (and everyone else’s in my group’s) favorite, They make you feel so welcome and are so likeable that you get blindsided when they cut you. You have to not take it personally because since they are everyone’s favorite during recruitment and only take a set number it’s tough. Trust the process, just like they say. Last year I ended up in my 3rd choice house and at the time I wasn’t too thrilled, but wow I have made life long friends that will some day be my bridesmaids and in hind sight I wouldn’t change a thing. Bottom line -Don’t go in with your heart set on a particular house!
#2by: Not everyone’s favorite
This has been a public service announcement brought to you by Pi Phi...
The self promotion by them is incredible.
They are a PR machine, news flash they are NOT everyone’s favorite.
They are not diverse, have so many rules, and have highest gpa requirements for members.
So if your gpa is not where it’s supposed to be you will be on probation, still have to pay dues & not be able to participate. ( and before you say it, other houses also have grade requirements but pi phis are ridiculous) This is important. You may have made great grades in hs but college is so different & difficult for many the first semester or two.
#3by: Well
From my experience Pi Phi was extremely unwelcoming and off putting. I was glad they did not call me back. The girls do not take recruitment seriously and will ignore conversation with a pnm and talk to each other. They made NO EFFORT to get to know me. I’ll always remember this about Pi Phi and the types of girls there.
