setting expectations

by: RDR20

So you got a bid now what?
Sorority is what you make of it. Don’t expect to be bff’s right away with everyone in the house.
You still have to make an effort. Attend events, join committees, be involved.
I know of so many girls who have dropped from many houses because they didn't feel connected,That falls on you to be involved & make those connections.
When you do that you will be in for four years & love it!

I was hoping there would be more bonding activities especially initially. I’m from out of state and don’t know anyone here other than my roommates. They knew each other before so I already feel uncomfortable enough, Their sororities have been getting together all week and going to dinner and frat parties. I’m sitting here alone on a Saturday night because my sorority hasn’t done anything since the meeting, and they are both out with their new sorority sisters.

Does your PC have a group me? We always used ours to see what parties people were going to, pre game together, meet up at the lib etc

So sorry to hear this but this is just the first week.
You need to start reaching out to other new members, you can’t wait for it to happen.
At chapter get phone #s.
Offer to help with events.
Get phone #s, invite to lunch, invite to meet you at the library, etc
I’m sure there are others who feel the same as you do.
Give it time & put in effort & it will turn around.
