Why would sororities drop chicks with 3.1 gpa when half of the girls in all of them have gpas below that ???? Also the cut off is below 2.5 and ik girls who had 2.7 but still got in. Makes no sense but okay

If your GPA is below a 3.0 in high school you may struggle in college.
Bids want to be given to those who will stay active for 4 years and no house wants to use a bid on a potential grade risk.
If you’re going through recruitment as a sophomore or above, not as many upper class men are taken so houses are more selective.
Can you get in with lower Gpa? Some house absolutely not, others maybe. Maybe you’re a legacy, have great connections, etc.
Makes total sense.

If ur gpa is 3.3 u will still get dropped by houses ???? I think it’s quite shallow getting dropped w a 3.3 gpa when other girls have below that. I just wanna know if a person has 3.3 gpa from hs will she still get dropped ?

There are many things that could be considered “ shallow” during recruitment , but dropping for grades is not one of them.

A 3.3 in high school is a B- average and lower at many schools. Most sororities have at least a B+ cutoff for grades. The top sororities look for the entire package - personality, high standards, academics, appearance. Cutting for grades is done to keep chapter gpa high. Pi Phi Kappa Theta will look for girls that have have total package.

Getting dropped for your looks is much more shallow than getting dropped for grades but its still one of the main reasons ppl get dropped lol
