why are the “bottom tiers” at the “bottom”??

by: ?

Why are these houses with sweet girls considered “bottom tier” what makes them “bottom tier” and what makes a house a “top tier”...? Is it because of superficial reasons? grades? Etc, I think all the sororities are great and have good and bad girls. What makes certain ones considerabley “worse”??? lol just wondering I think all the sororities are great. And who decides these “tiers”?????

The only substantial evidence of "rank" is return rates during recruitment.

Girl, if we knew the answer to this, it wouldn’t be such a problem. I’ve been in my sorority for two years and used to get so caught up in the rankings and superficial aspect of Greek life. But yes, Greek rank and rankings are 100% girls bashing other sororities based on personal experiences with one or two girls, and writing their own good reviews for their sorority/their friends sororities

I’d say most of these girls are people fresh out of high school who are looking for that tier system that they grew up with before (since in college there are no “popular kids”, the Greek system has become a place for petty children to reallocate their former popularity that they thrived on their entire lives.) I have discovered that once you become an upperclassmen, you either love your sorority or don’t, based on the activities you do, the friends you have made, and your involvement—not on the rank, or the social status.

In the end, it’s the organization you joined that matters, not the status it holds in Lubbock TX (cuz most “ bottom tiers” here are top sororities nationally, which is what is potentially actually important to look at)

what makes a top tier is subjective - even on return rates - there are 2 chapters that are considered "bottom tier" on greek rank that got the majority of the girls they wanted - remember pmns - you don't get to choose - the sorority makes the decision first on who they will keep so its interesting how the rush week plays out. So please keep an open mind - truthfully Tech is so blessed to have the great houses that we have and not all campuses even get a house - they get a floor - so just have fun and remember " Guns Up!" and you'll do fine.
