my son is a senior
by: DaddyMy son is planning on going through formal rush next year, but is not a follower or a party animal. I myself was a Sigma Chi, but would not want my son to join at Tech. From what I have understand they have been kicked off campus 2-3 times in the last 20 years and abuse their pledges. Not the SX I was a part of. He is planning on majoring in Architecture, and was a 2 sport varsity athlete. He is interested in a fraternity that does not have a harsh pledge system involving excessive alcohol or servitude to active members. Is there a group on Greek Circle that fits that criteria? Also... is there a good fraternity not yet on Greek Circle, but may be growing and active? Thanks for the responses.

Greetings Daddy,
Sigma Chi has been officially booted of starting from Fall 2012. Almost every fraternity will haze if they are in greek circle because they have been here for ages, unchecked by nationals. That leaves the new fraternities that will not haze. Which are Lambda Chi Alpha, Tau Kappa Epsilon, Delta Kappa Epsilon ( Think they are colonizing Fall 2013, and Chi Psi) Out of all of these I would definitely recommend Lambda Chi Alpha, Because most sororities have a positive expereince with them. TKE is also another good prospect because they have a lot and are good in numbers. I would not recommend fraternities such as Delta Chi and Farmhouse though, because they are known to haze a lot during their process.
Cheers,
Johnpc

This poster above is a LXA.
Nobody likes 'em, they got in trouble during their retreat for "hazing" pledges earlier this semester.
They also couldn't afford sigma chis lodge.
