fall 2018 rush
by: sorority FreshieWhen rushing, do sororities really look at grades and GPA?? I had a bad first two years due to personal stuff that pretty much set my GPA (2.5) for my HS career but stepped it up with A’s JR&SNR yrs which is already too late for my average. I heard you’re automatically cut if you don’t have an ideal GPA? I’d consider myself to be a well rounded girl who’s social, friendly and cute girl despite the fact. Should I even rush or am I gonna be automatically rejected from every house? Not trying to waste time, money or energy for a big disappointment. Thanks

They say that you need a 2.75 to rush, but i had great Rex’s and great conversations at all of the houses & ended up getting cut bc my GPA was a 2.97.. big houses at tech ideally want you to have about a 3.2! But it also depends on that year!! I would highly recommend going through bc you never know the out come! !

PNM, anytime anyone says “I got cut because” don’t listen to the rest of their sentence because it is always an assumption. It’s impossible to find out what exact reason you got cut for.
Also grades matter more for some sororities than for others. Good luck!

So b/c of that you’re currently not in a sorority at all? Sorry to hear if so! ): What do you mean it depends on that year though? Do you know if someone with a low GPA has ever been in a top house or just simply got into a sorority in general? I can imagine there’d be tons of girls to choose from so I have quite a bit of doubt in myself :/
