the relevance of ranking

Hi guys, this is my first time on this site and I was just wondering what are rankings? Like in regards to the sororities. I've heard some rho gammas and other people commenting on here, that rankings don't matter, yet everyone on here is crazy about them. How are sororities ranked and do they really matter?

Outside of the top 3-5, they're ranked by members to highlight the sorority they belong to. Top 5 is pretty clear regardless of order. Most "battles" are fought to determine middle tiers.

Top house is pi phi because literally everyone wants it. Followed by Tri delt and kkg. Zeta and theta are good as well. The rest of the sororities are way less competitive

To answer your questions, rankings are basically a popularity contest, and they only matter if you make them matter.

Rankings are the opinions of the people who post their opinions.
There are over 30,000 students here & maybe 30 posters.
So while reading this stuff can be entertaining, it's basically meaningless.
Hopefully you don't go through rush wanting to be in a "popular house" based on the anonymous opinions here. They may not even be Greek, were Greek her 20 years ago, somebody's mom , self promoting their own house, etc
