It's going to be awkward at first but what you should NEVER talk about are the 5 B's which consist of boys, booze, Bush(politics/government in general), bank, and bible(religion). I'd say let them start the conversation first. If you feel it getting awkward feel free to ask her where she's from and what made her want to come to Lubbock and what she loves about it here. If she's from Lubbock, ask her what made her decide to stay around for college.

I remember my final choices. I won't mention any names of the chapters but some girls as similar from one another and others are different. They may make you feel welcomed or they may make you feel uncomfortable. All houses are great. It just takes a lot to find the right one. I remember when I had a conversation with one of the girls in the chapter it was so awkward that she repeatedly asked "so how have you been?" If she literally keeps asking that you might not want to make that your first choice. We talked about other things and I tried to keep the conversation going but she changed the subject and thought I was weird and she still doesn't like me till this day lol. When I met with another house this one instantly became the one for me and my top choice and I'm thrilled with the choice I picked. I remember when I was able to have a conversation she just had good laughs and we had so much to tell each other. We talked about blue bell and she told me how her family had a bucket of ice cream in the freezer once a week. We even talked about Whataburger. We talked so much about random things that she was the reason why I'm thrilled I chose my house. She may not be my big but she's someone I can always count on. I hope that you're able to find the sisterhood and the house you belong in. Good luck with recruitment!
