new sorority?

Just out of curiosity. I know, there's been some talk about new sororities on campus, and I just wanted to know everyone's thoughts. Which sorority would you like to see on campus? or do you think its a bad idea? Any thoughts? (even if your happily in another sorority)

I don't think its time yet but if greek life keeps growing, I'm sure we'll have Gamma Phi back within 10 years

The Midwest and West/West Coast. Not so much the South.

Oklahoma State, Kansas State, Nebraska all have very strong chapters.

Where in Texas are they good? They hit mid tier at best and at Tech>

wrong. They are top house at TCU, Big 6 at UT (all of which except maybe Zeta are top tier), and upper middle or top at SMU. Tech is the only one of the top four Greek schools in the State where they are below upper mid.

rock bottom at Texas State and their other chapters at smaller school...
XO along with Theta seem to be slipping in Texas for some reason..whats going on?

rearranging. There are a lot sororities and fraternities slipping and rising in the state right now.

Gamma Phi is the way to go. The organization is strong and they do strategically close down chapters sometimes in order to wait for the environment to get better so they can maintain their criteria.

Gamma Phi is the one. Gamma Phi, APhi, AOPi, and DG, as well as several other sororities, have nationals that are pumping big bucks into their existing chapters as well as recolonizing and started new chapters. XO has been tops for years...but I believe they are slipping a bit. However, they have such alumnae support that they will certainly get back on top. My opinion.

Phi Mu, Sigma Kappa and Gamma Phi Beta were all at Tech at one time so it would probably be one of them

DZ would be good for tech. They are top at texas state which is just as large of a school just not as big of a Greek community.

I think Gamma Phi Beta or Sigma Kappa would do really well here. Both had chapters up until the 70's or something, plus rumor is that SK still owns ATO's lodge, so if anyone were to come back, either one would do just fine. Looks like Greek Circle 3 is inevitable at this point, almost 1,000 girls went through rush this year, divide that by 10 sororities.
