sorority recruitment question
by: Diamond
Hi guys,
I plan on rushing this fall and I want to know my chances of being in a sorority. I am a junior, I won't have any letters of recommendation, I have a 3.6 gpa, and I am very outgoing. From what I've taken from this site and just in general I have a slight preference for DG, KD, XO, AXO, and Kappa. Do I have a good chance? Is there anything I can do to up my chances for recruitment?
Thanks!

Most houses you will need a letter of recommendation to get past period 1. Most people who rush get a house if they don't drop, I've seen juniors rush before.. though it's not preferred because houses would like to have you in the chapter for more than a year or two.

Girl, you can get recs. It might make the difference between being cut and staying an extra day at your favorite house. Google your hometown, county or the biggest city you can drive to, along with the words panhellenic alumni. Most areas have a list of alumni from all sororities that are willing to write recs, even for girls they don't know! They will most likely want your resume, grades and a headshot, but they are happy to do it for you. It's part of sisterhood. Look NOW, because it's time. As for picking houses you like, while your choices are certainly good, I beg you to go into recruitment with a completely open mind. Pretend you never got on this website.
