sophomore year rush

by:

Hi everyone,
I am a new college freshman. I love Tech but i decided to stay home for a year to mature and get good grades at a community college. My grades weren't the worst in high school but not applying myself as much as I should've freshman and sophomore year hurt my GPA. I could've rushed and got a lower tier house but I'm deciding to wait until next year. Is this a smart decision? Will I be turned away for being a sophomore? Thank you

You should be turned away for thinking you're too good for a "lower tier" house. You're going to be a GDI for a year in order to hope for a top tier house next year? How are you going to explain that during recruitment parties when asked why you waited? So many missed friendships, events and memories of Greek life. I feel bad for you.

@wondering you haven't gone through rush and have already made judgements on who a "lower tier" house is? Based on what? What you read here? Yes you do have some "maturing" to do.

You don't even go here? Why are you in this board? if you are concerned about grades, good for you. Worry about that not potentially rushing next year. You're not here. Doesn't matter if it will hurt you or not next year you can't change it.
