sophomore year rush
by: Wondering
Hi everyone,
I am a new college freshman. I love Tech but i decided to stay home for a year to mature and get good grades at a community college. My grades weren't the worst in high school but not applying myself as much as I should've freshman and sophomore year hurt my GPA. I could've rushed and got a lower tier house but I'm deciding to wait until next year. Is this a smart decision? Will I be turned away for being a sophomore? Thank you

You should be turned away for thinking you're too good for a "lower tier" house. You're going to be a GDI for a year in order to hope for a top tier house next year? How are you going to explain that during recruitment parties when asked why you waited? So many missed friendships, events and memories of Greek life. I feel bad for you.

@wondering you haven't gone through rush and have already made judgements on who a "lower tier" house is? Based on what? What you read here? Yes you do have some "maturing" to do.
