Look at rankings from US News and World Reports comparing the two schools. Oops, you can't because Tech is nationally ranked and Tx State is only ranked on a regional-level list. Tech is a Tier One university along with UT and A&M (UH is supposed to be there soon too). The area surrounding Tech looks like any upscale suburban city in Texas. San Marcos? Not so much. Nothing wrong with Tx State, but please don't come on here and try to bash Tech. Maybe bring up your grades so you can transfer to a Tier One school someday. Or enjoy the "poppin" in your college years and the serving Tech grads their fries at the drive thru...

get real. Tech is only slightly better than state and not by a significant margin. Regardless it doesn't matter in the long run, no need to assume all Texas state students are going to be "serving fries" like what an ignorant thing to say

Got into tech ended up choosing txst
Maybe one day you will make decent enough grades to transfer to UT
