Adding on to this to ask if they look at weighted GPA's as well!

You want at least a 3.0 (unweighted) but some chapters will cut you if you have less than 3.3 or 3.5

Honestly, if you have a low GPA in high school, think about if you can even handle being in a sorority. It takes a lot of time with your meetings and events and philanthropy. Add that to the stress of freshman year and you could flunk your way out. If you do try and get cut, bring your grades up and try again in the spring or as a sophomore.

So is having a 3.5 looked down upon? What's the average GPA of pnm's?

If I don't have a 3.0 or higher but am taking summer school classes, would that help with my chances of getting into a top tier or should I just wait until spring or sophomore year to rush?

Nothing is wrong with a 3.5 but remember there are going to be PNM's who were academic superstars. For techhhh, if you think you can manage your time with classes and sorority duties, just go through the recruitment process. Forget top tier nonsense and be open minded to all of the houses. If you do get dropped, at least you will understand how recruitment works and will be ahead of the game for next time.

If you have a 2.9 and their cutoff GPA is a 3.0, then unfortunately the 2.9 is below their cutoff ):

If you're a PMN and didn't make great grades in high school and really want a top tier sorority, completely focus on your freshman year grades and wait to rush as a sophomore! And it's such good motivation to do well in school freshman year when people typically get the lowest grades. If you have bad high school grades you will not rush well, if you rush as a sophomore year with a 4.0, it is a COMPLETELY different rush experience.

Is it even worth rushing if you have below a 3.0 or should you just wait for sure

Or just wait for spring rush. It's not that long of a wait. 1 semester
