sororities and rush at scu

From a guy's perspective it seems fairly competitive. I think the girls have to check out all of the houses and eventually you will cut some off of your list and vice versa.
The top two sorority houses are Alpha Phi and Delta Gamma. Because they have been at SCU for over 20+ years.

KKG is another good solid mid-tier.
And Theta and ADPi are lower tier but ADPi is just a year old and is definitely on the upswing.

You don't have to be a legacy to get into a top house. But it may be a deciding factor when comparing two close candidates.

People may say Greek life is small here. But around 20% of undergrads are in Greek life. It won't consume your time but it will be a good supplement to your social life.

Please ignore some of the rankings on here. Even some of the ratings in my own sorority make me cringe because they make it seem so catty.

Alpha Phi and Delta Gamma are the best sororities on campus, followed by Kappa Kappa Gamma and Alpha Delta Pi (mid-tier), then Kappa Alpha Theta.

Each house has great girls and after rush no one is concerned with who is best.

Just choose the house that feels right for you. There is no wrong choice. :) Rush for sure. Give it a shot and if you go through bid night you can even drop if you dont like it, but let's be honest, you will.

All the posts above are pretty accurate. Don't get hung up on Tri-Delt if you want to attend school in California. They aren't any good out here anyway. All of the groups at Santa Clara have good nationals and are considered top sororities nationally. Have fun at Rush. It really is a good time and you'll have a good time at SCU.
