the truth about rankings
by: JuniorOk, I’m not gonna lie and say rankings don’t matter or aren’t a thing, because they are. That being said, they become a lot less important after freshman/sophomore year. Rankings are a very high school concept, as they are mostly based on superficial things like wealth, housing, and attractiveness. So it would make sense why freshmen who haven’t even been out of hs for a full year would be into them. However, sophomore and especially junior year on, no one really cares. People grow up and start to realize that being a douchebag isn’t cool and being a genuine person is more important that being in a specific frat. Hell, people don’t even care whether or not you’re in Greek life at all, and lots of girls either drop or become far less involved in their sororities because they realize that it doesn’t do much for them. Joining a frat just because it’s “top tier” is a really bad move, as no one will care in a year or two and if you don’t like the guys, you won’t be happy. It’s all about finding the people you like and want to spend your college experience with.
