fraternity rush

I will be a sophomore transfer in September. How does rush work for transfers and is it hard to get a bid?

Rush isn't until winter quarter, so you have plenty of time to meet people and get a feel for the different frats before then. Lots of sophomores rush so you won't be alone in that regard either. As for getting a bid, some frats are more competitive than others but as long as you're cool and vibe with the brothers you should be able to get in anywhere. Our pref system is really weird and basically only allows you to pick one though, so definitely be wary of that.
