I am trying to transfer in January. Do any transfers try and rush and what are the chances of getting a bid? I will be a Sophomore.

Honestly, it’s a little lower in chance compared to freshman. However, if you’re chill I don’t see why anyone wouldn’t take you.

Most frats here are pretty open to taking sophomores (all of them took several this year). The only reason why it might be a lower chance is that many sophomore rushees rushed as freshmen and didn't get a bid, so some frats are more hesitant to take them because it will look like they're taking other frats' leftovers. However, as a transfer, that whole issue is irrelevant so you should be good as long as you're chill and make friends with brothers you should be good.

Only problem is I would only arrive in January, which is when rush starts.

Rush isn't until week 2 so if you have any brothers in your classes (they usually wear their letters at least once a week), introduce yourself and talk to them. That way you can get a feel for what at least some of the frats are like before rush.
