what happened to beta?

I see a lot of post that seems to be against beta. Why and when did this hatred happen?

I've never hated on them on here but they're everything about a fraternity that it shouldn't be. They're a catty version of SigNu without the nerdy charm.

Plus, they try too hard. The lack of self awareness is truly stupifying.

When a new fraternity comes to campus and they're already seen as superior to Beta then that should show you how they're viewed...
