first impressions?
by: freshmenafter the first night I personally think I like SK and KKG the most, then aphi and chi o. The rest after that were kind of blah. what's everyone else thinking so far?

I definitely liked SK and Chi O the best too. I HATED KKG, walked out of the room feeling like I had lost IQ points from the conversations. Alpha Phi seemed way too superficial and fake with one another. People hate on pi phi too but I actually thought they were pretty good

1st night thoughts (what i wrote down in my notebook, unbiased by who dropped me the next day)
Aphi - beautiful, accomplished, etc
kkg - least favorite. girls were beautiful yet dumb and did anyone else feel that they were drunk as hell? my convo was not good and went into topics we weren't supposed to talk about so i was just sitting there like ummm????
sk - west coast brunettes, stuckup, felt like i was being interviewed
chi o - academic, chill, laidback, genuinely nice
adpi - accomplished, put together, pretty, nice
kd - really put together, loved the green, nice girls
pi phi - hated the american theme
aephi - hated the "fiesta" theme. also the dance / decorations were ehhh
phi sig - nice girls but awkward
sdt - really nice but it felt forced

Totally normal. Chi O is very chill and easy to talk to. I actually hated ADPi during recruitment and yet I am super tight with so many of their girls. KD didn't exist when I when through recruitment but they're cut from the same cloth as ADPi. If those 2 chapters are your options tomorrow, remain open minded and remember that the middle tiers are good chapters who are kind of bad at recruitment- you'll probably love them if you join.

no chapter that hits quota is "bad at recruitment". if you didn't feel comfortable in a house for whatever reason, then that is not the house for you. and that's fine! at the end of the day, you only need one house, because you only get one bid. every chapter is looking for something different in a pledge class, and maybe you don't fit that, and that's why you were uncomfortable. what really matters is where you DO feel at home!

Every good chapter has "bad things about their rep"- don't pay attention to it and go with who you like (though in addition to KKG, APhi has gotten a horrible rep this past year and SK are known to be psycho and the most fake).

don't listen to reps and go with your gut, most of the bad ones are perpetuated by jealousy from other chapters.
