senior rushing the new frat

by: Weird

Just found this site. I was wondering if it'd be weird if a senior rushed that new fraternity coming to campus? I'm a transfer if that matters. I've been told it's also great thing to have for networking after you've graduated. Opinions?

Rushing the new frat is relative-- DSP and Alpha Sig are both small nationally-- and honestly, if your main concern when rushing is connections, you probably shouldn't rush a social fraternity. That said, I might have misjudged your intentions; if you are looking for a fraternity for the usual reasons (brotherhood + fun) the new frat might give you a bid, but why limit yourself to them? SNu took a senior in their fall PC, I know Lambda needs people, and SAE would kill for literally anyone.

My reason is definitely not exclusively networking, I guess I see it as a bonus. So you think established fraternities like Sigma Nu would take on a senior?

I mean, for the groups like Sigma Nu, Lambda and SAE it just depends if you're a fit with the chapter. I say go out, rush, and see if you like them/if they like you

Lambda actually got good numbers this year, so I don't see us taking any seniors but feel free to rush.

Hey man I'm in your exact same situation. Senior transfer. So do yall think it'd be better to go to Delta Sig with them being new or for a lower tier fraternity?
