sorority vs fraternity

by: why

Why is it acceptable for a senior transfer guy to rush a fraternity but it's nearly impossible for a senior transfer girl to go out for a sorority? I don't get it...

Structural differences, as well as supply + demand differences. Girls have a surplus, even for sororitys like Phi Sig that have quota issues. Guys, on the other hand, have groups which need people badly (SAE, PSK).

Plus, the process is different from a recruitment perspective-- guys, it's possible to just rush the places you'll get a bid, meet people beforehand because of dirty rush, but girls have to keep it mostly clean.

Lastly, no one is saying senior guys will get in to established fraternities, and there are shoddy frats at GW, but the sororities are generally more together (I.e. not having problems like PSK +SAE ), so there are no bottom options for girls.

Wow this is literally my situation. I transferred in last year and didn't do recruitment. Do senior girls have any chance at getting a bid if they are transfers?
