tiers updated for spring 2015

Top tier: APhi/DG/KKG/SK
Mid tier: Chi O/ADPi/KD
Bottom tier: AEPhi/Pi Phi/SDT/Phi Sig
These are SIMPLIFIED to top middle and bottom. SK and Chi O could probably have their own upper mid tier, but I'm keeping it simple.
SK is not as good as the other 3 but they are more top than mid.
Chi O is best of the mid tier but not yet top tier material.
AEPhi used to belong in mid tier but they had 2 bad recruitments and now they're spring rushing with SDT and Phi Sig.

I can see why looks-wise SK might not be on the same tier as DG or KKG. But APhi is not all looks, either. The reason top guys love these two so much is that they are genuinely fun to hangout with.

KD and ADPi are exactly where they belong. It's AEPhi that's out of place, they are basically lower than Pi Phi nowadays.

whoever keeps ripping on aephi must be a pi phi. Aephi will mix with the top frats every month or so. pi phi? never

AEPhi only gets those mixers because their juniors and seniors are good. But the younger two classes? bad bad bad. For now, I'll say they are ahead of Pi Phi but man they are cutting it close. You know things are bad when you have to spring rush and pi phi doesnt.

Does spring rushing really make a difference? I always kinda thought otherwise: there weren't enough girls they liked or they thought would fit in in the fall, so they're giving girls who might hate formal recruitment a chance because they get a whole different range of people.

It's a good theory but not how it works. Sororities don't get to choose how many girls they cut. If you go under quota, it means of the PNMs that went to your pref night, enough chose other chapters instead of you that you couldn't meet panhel's minimum requirement (what happened to DG in 2012.)
The other reason a sorority can spring rush is that you can have enough older girls disaffiliate that even though you got a large pledge class, you are under your national sorority's required number and they are no longer making enough money off of your chapter so they require you to spring rush. (What happened to SK last year)
If you're spring rushing, it's either because panhel is making you from doing poorly in fall recruitment, or your national chapter is making you because too many girls have quit. It's a poor reflection on a chapter either way.

Can't wait till all your freshman pledges find out how rude you guys are. First of all,DG definitely beats you guys (forgetting their reputation). ChiO belongs at the BOTTOM of middle tier, and they're falling. Fast. Bottom tier should go SDT/Pi Phi/AEPhi/Phi Sig. Sdt Girls are hotter and more fun than Pi Phis, but both groups are MUCH sweeter and less caddy than AEPhis. AEPhis used to not have to care about rush which is why they're recruiting terribly now. They didn't come close to quota. SDT met quota, and apparently they only spring rushed because nationals advised it on their low senior count so that they would have enough girls for fall recruitment. Phi Sigs are nice girls. Let them be. Always a good time and fun to mix with.

Even if it was written by an SDT, it's accurate. People who try to say AEPhi is mid tier are reallyyyyy living in the past. SDT and AEPhi both suck, but SDT has done better than them in recruitment 2 years in a row, as has Pi Phi. People keep trying to put AEPhi up in the mid tier with ADPi, KD, and Chi O because they have decent mixers, but they are truthfully bottom tier.

drop AEPhi below adpi/kd and then it's more accurate. I'm in one of the top 4 chapters and I'd happily join adpi or kd but you couldn't pay me to go aephi.
Also, KKG better than APhi? Most people wouldn't agree.

They're bottom of the top tier/top of the middle. But they belong more at the top than the middle.
