spring rush

by: transferguy112

Hey everyone! I just transferred to GW from a very small liberal arts college in Mass. We had no greek life at my old school so when I transferred to GW I didn't particularly think about rushing this Fall. Now that I've been here for a few months I see that it's a pretty big part of campus. I also have noticed how tight people in their respective fraternities and sororities are which seems amazing, especially since being a transfer at a new school has been kind of lonely so far. I was wondering what the chances of a junior transfer getting a bid for spring rush was? I'm not too picky about the "hierarchy" of the fraternities. I just want to find one with fun guys to make friends with for the next year and a half that I'm here.

So basically my questions are :

1. How does spring rush work?

2. Does a junior transfer even have a chance of getting a bid from a fraternity during spring rush?

Thanks everyone!

Some of the more pretentious frats will disregard Juniors, but my roomate last year was in Sigma Nu and rushed as a junior. I suspect all the other small frats (Lambda, PSK, SAE) wouldn't look down on you for it, and you could probably get into Beta if you just show up at Rush and act normal-- they really want to grow, so they give out bids like water.
