what makes a kid squidy?

So I've seen a lot of people on this board referring to a lot of pledges/fraternities (especially Kappa Sigma) as squids... can someone explain what that means to me? Because all the guys I talked to during rush (which included Kappa Sigma) seemed like normal guys. Is it just like another word for a scrub or something?

As a girl the whole 'squiddy' reputation applies to a lot of juniors and seniors in frats nowadays, like Kappa 'Squid' that you mentioned. As a senior I still regard them as that, and even Pi Kapp, but the younger guys aren't at all for the most part.

It means they resemble Squidward from Spongebob, whether by looks or personality.
