fall rush

i want to rush in the fall (i'll be a sophmore). any advice? my GPA is okay but it's low because i've had a really hard freshman year so if i make that clear when i talk to girls during rush, will it help me out? i have like a 2.9/3.0 but i know i'm better than that. i just really had a hard time meeting friends which made me depressed and that affected my grades. i'm interested in sk, chi o, adpi and aephi and maybe pi phi because the girls from those sororities seem nice (from what i've seen). any advice would be great. thanks in advance.
