thoughts on kappa alpha
by: ObserverI'm unsure what to think of this organization. They're the youngest on campus, but were just awarded a house and pull one of the best GPAs in the IFC. That's about all I know. For a new-ish fraternity, how are they doing?

They're probably mid tier now. They're at a similar level as Sigma Chi or Kappa Sig.
They've gotten a lot better but still have a lot of weird guys. Check it out I guess but it really takes a ton of work to get a fraternity from mid level to upper-mid let alone top tier. The higher you go the harder it is to move up because your competitors ahead of you are so much more established.
If you don't care about that and like the guys then go for it.

Considering that they only recolonized 3 or so years ago, their rise has been meteoric. Granted, there's a handful of weird guys. But in terms of appearance, classiness, and general respectability, KA is mid-tier and going nowhere but up. Well above Kappa Sig, tied with Sig Chi, and a few notches below Sig Ep.

If you think KA Is on the same level as Sigma Chi, above Kappa Sigma, and 'a few notches below SigEp', you're insane. KA blows and is on a par with ZBT.

No, KA is at least tied with KS, if not a little above. The difference? They don't accept every single idiot who comes out to rush.

That is one difference... Yes. But you guys still accept some very weird men who wouldn't stand a chance elsewhere. That being said, you don't have a house, your national organization isn't what KapSig's is and girls around campus generally think more highly of KappaSquid. I have never seems a girl wearing a rush KA/philanthropy shirt for you guys. Not one. If you want to boast your fraternity, fine. But don't bring down others whom are equally as bad as you in the process.

SigChi>KA>KapSig=ZBT
It has to do with selectiveness. SigChi is sitting around 25%, KA around 40%, and the other two lagging way behind around 75 or 80%. "Yeah" is a clearly a jerk, but he (or she) has a point!

Sigma Chi is mid tier but they at least show up to events and try to compete with the top tier frats. They fail, but they still at least have the stones to show up and get their asses kicked.
Kappa Sig shows up occasionally but not that often.
KA barely even has a presence at GW, they're barely mid tier and maybe not even that.

Nah, KA is middle. Below Kappa Sig and Sigma Chi, but above anyone else. So that would rank them...8th out of what, 16?
