differences

by: girl

Im thinking of rushing next year and i get that Alpha Phi has locked in number one and behind them SK is a supposed number two. I get why DG and Kappa are different from alpha phi, but what makes SK and Alpha Phi so different. As an outsider its hard to tell anything except looks.

They're really not much different (to guys). Both hot. Both have a town house on the row. Both good reputations.

They mix with similar fraternities too. SK mostly with PiKapp. Aphi with SigEp.

SK is more edgy and has girls that have colored hair dye, tattoos, piercings- also hip hop dancers, actresses, artists etc. They're less stereotypical sorority girl and dont wear their letters as much. They are more "chill." Alpha phi is straight up Elle Woods (in a good way). DG is Regina George.

SK defintely has a better sisterhood. Their PC this year has a variety of grades and new students (transfers) who have clearly made their way in to it and have friendships with almost everyone. I have a lot of friends in APhi who do not hang out with their sisters or seem to know them. They are not invested, or at least don't seem like it.

SK also has a variety of people. Hipsters, preps, anyone you name it. They are very diverse. They also have one of the highest GPAs on campus. APhi seems like its all the same person. I agree that SK is a lot less consistent but I feel like that's good on their part because it shows they are actually looking for the quality. Rather than just finding someone who fits their "bubble" so to speak. APhi is also def more selective because everyone wants to be in it and they know that.

how is alpha phi all the same person? Also doesnt it make sense for them to be similar since its a sorority.

I disagree. Alpha Phi and SK are very different. Guys love SK but they don't seem that organized or motivated at all. They never seem to show up to mixers or events in force like Alpha Phi or DG do. They kind of float around and are very independent. They kind of have their own friend groups that are tight and hang out with different frats - mostly Pi Kapp, although they could probably do better in my opinion.

Alpha Phi is maybe slightly more attractive and they're the more well-run of the two. If you get paired up with them you know you're going to do well. They show up to fraternity events in big numbers pretty much regardless of who their partners are but especially for Sig Ep.

Honestly I prefer SK but I also know most of my friends prefer Alpha Phi or DG. It appears to me that the girls in SK are happier with their sorority even though that kind of contradicts what I've said earlier. They're all great sororities.

SK is much chiller. Alpha Phi is so stereotypical.

SK is very chill but.... I can see Chi O taking over their top 2 spot. A lot of girls went chi o instead of sk this year and chi o got the better pledge class. Aphi is solidly top for now but sk has some competition.

They're not weird at all. Most of the girls that use this site are SKs or Alpha Phis which kind of explains the bashing of Chi O. They also comment on the fraternity boards a lot, stating their opinions as fact.

Chi Os PC is more attractive than SK's in the eyes of a lot of us. Just ignore the spiteful posts Chi O.
