I don't think Pike will do that. It will make them look really bad and most of the high quality kids they wanted either went to Sig Ep or Phi Psi.
The pledge process and being part of a class, getting offered your bid are really important and unique experiences and giving out a bid like that would be humiliating and wouldn't fix the mistakes they made.

What they will probably do is start looking for kids for their spring class earlier and try to get a good
class in the spring.

My favorite thing on the Pike issue is how IFC president Casey Wood who is a member of Pike was quoted in the hatchet saying he thought that giving out bids year long was a great idea to make sure some kids aren't lost from Greek life completely but now that his fraternity could afford to do just that it seems like they are falling quiet unless they start approaching kids within this next week or two perhaps.

Pike lost a couple each to sig ep and phi psi, and vice versa. They also had a lot of quality guys that only rushed Pike.

Sig Ep by far got the best pledge class and 17 pledges for PIKE is embarrassing. The good ones went to Sig Ep and Phi Psi. Sig Ep and Phi Psi pledges combined with their good older guys will be very interesting. Sig Ep guys got pledges who have it all. Phi Psi's are good too.

PIKE used to get like the #3 class absolute worst case scenario but usually got the #1 or 2 class every year. As someone else mentioned, one of the pledges has already dropped from the small class, and only 13 of them are freshman. There are still some very good guys that only rushed PIKE but no fraternity mid-tier or above is shooting for anything less than 25. They seemed to be looking for foreign/athletic guys mostly. In the past there were some great personalities that really helped the chapter.
This year PIKE's rush chair just wasn't prepared to lose all those kids to Sig Ep and Phi Psi, in the past PIKE maybe would lose 1 or 2 but get almost all of their top recruits. A lot of great guys got cut this year and it seems like Sig Ep and Phi Psi put more stock into getting those kind of guys at rush. Unsurprisingly, those types of great guys are now helping recruit other cool guys for their new fraternities.
Sig Ep got the best class, Phi Psi was a distant second and Pi Kapp/PIKE was an even further distant third/fourth. I honestly have no idea how Sig Ep took all those kids from other fraternities. Phi Psi I can kind of understand because they have the townhouse, party a lot and are very social/good at recruiting.

What the heck is going on? Are these kids trying to rush other fraternities in the Spring or just disaffiliate from Greek life entirely? Pike was the best fraternity on campus!

Is this the good kids dropping or just some of the fringe kids? I've never heard of anyone lose that many pledges so quickly and would never expect to hear of it from Pike.

Better than Sigma Chi for sure.
Probably not better than Pi Kapp. Pi Kapp's class was #3 or #4.
