cob informal recruitment

When does COB work. I have heard some chapters have contacted girls. When do they decide so the girls can be a part of a group or let go.

It depends on the chapter. Some are more lowkey and some openly host events. Some reach out to girls they think will be good, some will take anyone. If youre interested, it does not hurt to DM their instagram and see what their process is and if you can join. Be proactive!

how long does it take before they give you a bid? Do you miss out on whole pledge process? Is each sorority required to give bids to a certain number of girls? I heard this year they are because a lot of girls get unmatched because rush can be so overwhelming.

Pledging has begun for new members that just went through formal recruitment. But some chapters may combine COB bids that they get soon into those existing new member classes.

I’ve seen public COB info from Pi Phi and Theta via Instagram stories, so def check those out! Not everyone who is eligible for COB participates or does so openly, especially if they only have a few spots to fill and have girls who are friends with chapter members in mind. This is why it’s important to be friendly and open to everyone you meet!
