I'm not even in kd & they're def not a top house, but they're significantly more well-rounded than aephi. Aephi has always been the house for jappy party girls obsessed with clubbing, that's who they recruit & the only thing they do. Kd doesn't even really excel in anything like higher ranked houses (decent sisterhood & diversity though) but they're considerably more involved on campus & are in general way more put together. Kappa's not top. They potentially could be, but only if they learn that a top house has to be well-rounded. Partying with frats doesn't make you top, frats mix with every house. Exceeding the super low expectations people had for kappa (a house that came super close to having their charter revoked) isn't exactly that impressive. Don't get me wrong, kkg should be proud there were a surprising number of girls who really wanted kappa, but 1 decent PC isn't enough to change the entire house. Also, every house has pretty girls, the difference is most houses don't recruit exclusively based on looks.

Please do less KD. We saw the pnms you took and by no means are they “more well rounded” than aephi or anyone mid tier. Also is well roundedness what makes a sorority better than another? Tbh no one killed it this year except arguably kappa. And that is extremely arguable.

nothing about that post (or any of these) screams KD to me. They did well. Hell, every chapter did well this year! But I'd love to know what you saw in KD's PNMs that made them look less well-rounded than AEPhi's, considering that's not something that's inherently visible, and I'm also curious as to what you think would make a sorority "better" (the ridiculousness of that notwithstanding) than another if not for their well-roundedness? Seems like almost everyone posting on here agrees that being a well-rounded chapter is key, so idk what else would, unless you're the kind of person who thinks looks make a chapter "better" than another, then I guess you wouldn't care how well-rounded those new members are, since again, that's not something you can just see...

I'd put Aephi and Kappa in their own category of middle tier with Kappa ahead of aephi. And pi phi and Phi Sig both seemed to pull some cool girls this year, better pc than Theta and SDT so far (which is to be expected since Theta is new). So I'd put them ahead of theta and sdt. Especially if you're going by how well rounded. And adipi seemed to get some good girls as well as chi o. I think we can l agree every chapter got some great girls and some tbd girls in gen. Do we know how many girls each chapter got?

Even if you want to rank AEPhi above KD in your own opinion (totally valid if you prefer the party vibe of AEPhi/Kappa over the vibe of KD, no shade), you at the very least admit that KD is higher ranked academically than AEPhi. I mean, it’s literally public information. By being so adamantly “AEPhi is higher in every regard” it makes YOUR affiliation obvious...

^that wasn't kd self ranking. literally everyone at gw knows aephi is the house for jappy party girls who go clubbing 24/7, so stating that kd is considerably more well rounded is a universally accepted fact. The only thing aephi has on kd is social life, & even then it's not a complete blowout. kd's def not a top house for social life, but they're about average-ish. Houses like aephi are convinced parties are the only thing that matter in rankings, but no one else except kkg has the same opinion. You have to focus on the other stuff too, otherwise the only girls who'll want to join are party girls who care about nothing else

But if they want the pnms who only care about partying and those pnms want them back, then no one else should care because other chapters clearly don’t want those girls. MS is private and they’re entitled to choose their new members based on whatever they value, so if they really value partying, good for them. But every other chapter DOES value being well-rounded, so AEPhi/Kappa: don’t flip out when other people rank you lower based on that. It just means they don’t only care about getting tables, and that’s okay.

^that's fair, I agree w that. Kappa & aephi always recruit the party girls who wouldn't be the right fit for any of the other houses. I don't have any problem w kappa & aephi recruiting the party girls since that's what their chapters prioritize, my only objection is when they rank themselves top since no other houses besides them exclusively prioritize looks & parties & the other houses all agree a top house has to be well-rounded

Not in kappa or aephi but know that aephi’s sisterhood priority is just as strong as their partying priority. That’s one of the main things that I have always seen that has differentiated aephi and kappa: aephi is actually friends with each other. KD citing gpa? That’s a little dumb.... also know aephi is definitely generally considered lower than kappa, chi o, aphi and SK, but waaaay above KD. I would rank KD upper lower tier tbh. Some weirdos in KD, never hear of KD socializing with any frats, period. Never heard of a KD philanthropy. Barely hear about KD at all actually now that I think about i t...

KD killed it this year. Still not above Chi O, but definitely above AEPhi. And I would even say Pi Phi and Phi Sig are more well rounded than AEPhi. Lots of Pi Phi girls in panhel positions this year, and Phi Sigs also tend to take strong leadership positions outside greek life. I would say between AEPhi and Kappa, Kappa is a bit more well rounded (lots of athletes, more racial diversity), but AEPhi has a bit less of a party image.
