Every year girls from each sorority leave because they graduate, don't want to be in it anymore and other various reasons so every recruitment the number of new girls they're able to take varies depending on how many people have left the year before.
The interest in sororities has been growing and every year more and more girls rush. There only so many available spots

If you’re nice and enthusiastic about joining during rush there’s a very very good chance you’ll find at least one house you connect with! Sororities do have to be choosy with who they give bids to - they want a girl who fits their vibe, will contribute to the chapter, and doesn’t seem like a potential risk - but it’s not super exclusive or anything. Last year I think like 100 girls just dropped out of recruitment before bid day and only 20 something girls didn’t get bids at all; and all 5 houses got pledge classes of around 30 girls

Whats considered a risk ? Not showing up to the events or just giving the overall chapter a bad look ?

Why isn't it guaranteed? Are sororities picky about the girls who join their sorority?
