cliques&popularity in houses?
by: wonderingI was interested in rushing next year until some girls I know in sororities started talking about this site and I looked at all the comments. How cliquey do sorority houses get and how much do looks and popularity matter when it comes to feeling accepted and getting involved?

Agreed, I wouldn't trust GreekRank to base your sorority choices off of... there's a lot of catty bs on here. All of the sororities get hate at some point or another and sororities change every year.
Like the comment above said, go through formal recruitment to decide on a sorority that you feel like you belong the most to. Also, in terms of cliquiness, I wouldn't be afraid of that if you put yourself out there and get to know as many girls as you can. Plus your pledge class will all be new just like you, and that's when a lot of friendships start forming in the first few months. Don't worry about being left out!

Each sorority is going to have a group of girls who are cliquey and want to be friends with just each other. I could name a group of girls from each sorority who have shown exclusion in some way or form to other girls at some point in time. When you have chapters of 80+ girls the reality is that cliques and friend groups will form. The important thing is when you go through recruitment, join a house where you feel comfortable that fits who you are, because chances are they'll attract many other girls similar to you and you'll find your group where you belong! After all, your vibe attracts your tribe. Never listen to gossip off on these forums because it's always some girl who is way too bitter about something.

^ Ok but some sororities have separate pre's while some have one big one for the whole sorority. It seems like some sororities here allow cliquiness more than others.
But yeah, cliques always form but that's not to say you'll be completely shut out but those girls.
