Would a sophomore from the north ever get a bid at a good fraternity? and how bad is the hazing?

The fraternities at UL aren't really focused on what region of the country you are from. Only difference I'd say it makes is to be an outgoing person since you likely won't know anyone already in the chapters.

As to the hazing question - were you actually expecting a real answer?

Based on my experience, the more involved and respected fraternities have little/no hazing issues at all, and would have no problem looking past your region/age if you fit in as a person.
