can a 23 year old go through sorority recruitment?
by: 23 and me
Hi,
I will be 23 and will be starting USC in the fall. I have a degree from another country, but need to get a bachelors in the U.S. for my future studies. I will sort of be a freshman , but sort of not. I'm waiting to find out what courses USC will credit me. I really want to join a sorority, but i don't want to be the joke of recruitment. I've heard that state schools have older women go through but private schools - not so much. Any advice would be helpful.

While the sorority thing can be great and a good way to make friends, if you are at the older end of the sphere coming in at 21, you may find it not so fun. And at 23, really doubtful... (I doubt you that you want to hang out with 18, 19 year old guys) You will likely do better and be happier joining some of the many clubs and other orgs on campus.

While a lot of the parties and social events are geared toward enabling underage girls drink and have a good time, you won't need them since you've been legal for two years. Many sororities may be intimidated that you are so much older and will use that as a reason not to call you back, but if that's their view you shouldn't want to be there either. Ultimately, I still encourage you to go through formal recruitment because you may find a chapter with a sisterhood that you enjoy!

I'm assuming that these women aren't going through to serve as your "MILF" eye candy. Can someone answer this seriously please?
